Did you say “costume contest?”
A costume contest will give prizes like a free romantic dinner in Los Angeles and a VIP party ticket package with free entry and free drinks when you show up in your Wizard of Oz costume! To enter the contest, sign up at the door with your name so that the judges will make their decision when you’re called up to the stage on the mic! Be ready to show off in character for added points! Posting a photo of your costume on the event page before or during the event will score you another extra secret prize!
Hosted at A Former Lesbian Cocktail Lounge
Previously known for being the only lesbian bar in Los Angeles, formerly known as Moonshadow Lounge, The Other Door cocktail bar is located in North Hollywood and caters to a diverse crowd of queer company inside of a fully stocked high energy dance club and hipsteresque dive bar mixed into one. Recently acquired by Burning Man’s French Quarter producer, Ari Schindler, everything is covered in eclectic humorous artifacts. The interior is an endless maze of multiple nooks and crannies of fun.
When you finally do reach the end of the tunnel you will find a dance floor with a DJ booth and music-synced party lighting. Before you discover the dance floor, there is secret room on the other side of a vintage Photo Booth with a secret lounge area. There is something for everybody here, even if you’re not a dancer. The entrance of the venue greets you with a full liquor bar to the left where customers can chill and converse. A pool table to the right gives dive bar fans an area to enjoy some comradery over some friendly competition. If you do some more searching, you will find an indoor/outdoor smoking patio with tables, benched, chairs, new friends, and fresh hot food.
